Tonal Chiropractic care

One of the first things you will notice when you start care at our office is that our

adjustments are different. They are nothing like the videos you’ve see on the internet

and if you have been to a chiropractor before they are likely different from what you

have previously experienced. Our adjustments are gentle and calming; no twisting,

popping, cracking, or discomfort. They are called TONAL adjustments. They are

focused on restoring and repairing the TONE of your nervous system. To shift your

nervous system out of fight/flight stress mode and into rest/digest/heal mode.

The doctor stands at the foot of the table and assesses your nervous system through

observation first: What does your breathing look like, is there symmetry in your body,

how are you carrying stress. These are the first clues into your nervous systems current

state. Next we assess through touch: feeling the tension and tone in the body through

the feet and achilles. Then we run through different checks to find what spot needs to

be adjusted. We are looking for the primary release spot. This is the spot that can be

adjusted and create the most amount of change in the nervous system. Once we find it,

we delivery and facilitate a gentle and specific adjustment through light touch. Then we

let the body process and integrate that adjustment. These steps are repeated until the

nervous system is holding clear or until it cannot process any more input during that

visit.

Tonal chiropractic allows for whole body healing and restoration.

We utilize a chiropractic technique called Talsky Tonal Chiropractic. This is a specific

technique under the umbrella of tonal chiropractic techniques. Where traditional

chiropractic is focused on muscles, bones and ligaments. Tonal chiropractic focuses on

the TONE of your nervous system. Now you might be asking, what is “Tone of the

nervous system”, and you wouldn’t be alone in this. I, Dr. Tanner, asked this question

myself when first diving into tonal techniques. The truth is it is hard to define but I will do

my best to break it down into simple terms.

There are a few things you must understand before we get into the definition of Tonal

chiropractic.

Tone can be defined as this: The expression or transmission of vibratory frequencies

that a particular medium can transmit or express at a given time.

Simply put, it is an expression of communication through a given system aka medium.

So Tonal Chiropractic can be looked at as the practice of helping communication within

a particular system, ie the nervous system.

When we boil it all the way down, Tonal Chiropractic is focused on restoring and

optimizing communication within your nervous system. Since the nervous system

controls all other systems in the body, it allows for optimal whole body communication

and healing. I told you it can be hard to define.

So now let’s talk about the benefits of Tonal Chiropractic. Since we now understand that

it allows for optimal communication between the brain and the body we have an easier

time understanding how vast the benefits can be from receiving this type of care. It is

not hard to imagine that when your brain and body are in coherence it is good for your

health and that when they are not in coherence it is bad for your health.

We utilize tonal chiropractic to help unwind and release stress off of the nervous

system. This can be old stress we are holding onto or current stress of our busy life.

When we have too much stress built up and/or going on, it overwhelms the nervous

system and puts it into fight/ flight. This is our protection mode and it puts healing and

health on the back burner. It negatively impacts sleep, digestion, focus, immune health

and more. Tonal chiropractic stimulates and resets the nervous system to shift it out of

stress mode aka fight/flight and into rest/digest/ heal mode. This allows the body to

focus its energy and attention on improving its function and adaptability. Simply put it

allows for change and healing to occur.

Your body is designed to heal itself. A stressed out and overwhelmed nervous system

gets in the way of that. We need to clear the nervous system and then get out of the

way so to speak. Let the body do its thing. It is as simple as when the body heals a cut

or scrape. You clean the wound out, put a bandaid on it and give the body TIME to

repair itself. It is not the bandaid that heals the cut, it is your body that does the healing.

When you allow your nervous system to function optimally your whole body will begin

to function optimally. This is where healing happens and why we see people for so

much more than just aches and pains.

We see infants for colic, reflux, constipation, and sleep issues. We see toddlers for ear

infections, frequent illnesses, tantrums/emotional regulation, sensory processing,

ADHD, and autism. We see teens and adults for anxiety/depression, brain fog, ADHD,

digestive issues, high blood pressure, chronic conditions and more.

Take care of your nervous system, and it will take care of you!
